Museum Madness

Another short post today, mainly because we spent most of the day at the Museum of Civilization, which is an awesome place, but contains so much information your brain might explode from the sheer force of it. I had so many pictures I couldn't really pick from the best ones, so I figure that it might be best left to a dramatic retelling in person.

We started the day going to breakfast with Geoff's aunt for Mother's day, it was really nice and as a surprise treat, Geoff's Uncle (Not his Aunt's husband) paid for the meal so it was a free breakfast! We then went over to the Museum of Civilization.

The Museum was really amazing but as with the Museum of War, it was too much to try and do in one day. Unlike the Museum of War, we were not able to finish all the exhibits. The first floor of Native History was especially informative.

I know this was a statue to a Sea God, but I couldn't help thinking it was just an oversized Canucks tribute.

The Museum also had a mind blasting mural painted to the ceiling over the stairwell. It felt like if you stared at it too long you'd be sucked in. I'm not sure what the artist was going for but it appears to be some clash between a painting wheel and a vortex.

I think they painted this to discourage drug users from skipping class and going to the Museum of Civilization. Take that Stoners!

The rest of the day was spent driving to Oakville, where we are now. Tomorrow, the Zoo!
